Greetings, Everyone!

I am thrilled to announce the official launch of the Foundation of Outstanding Mapúans Incorporated (FOMI) on Facebook! This page serves as a platform to connect with you, showcase FOMI's endeavors, and celebrate the legacy of outstanding Mapúans. But first, a little about FOMI, founded in 1997 by the esteemed recipients of the "The Outstanding Mapúan (TOM)“ AWARD. FOMI has a vital mission – We strive to support: Mapúa University, Mapúan students, The National Association of Mapúa, Alumni (NAMA), the broader community and the Nation. The FOMI Board is a strongly bonded organization composed of Trustees and Advisers.

 

Over the years, FOMI has proudly achieved several milestones, including:

• Revisiting and revising our Mission, Vision, and Core Values after 25 years to ensure they reflect our evolving purpose.

• Establishing a robust Scholarship Program and Lecture Series that empowers deserving Mapúa students.

• Collaboration with Mapúa and NAMA on the important key activities.

• Organizing impactful Outreach Programs that give back to the community.

• Promoting Nation Building through sharing of expertise and building of pedestrian bridges and school buildings

• Fostering a strong sense of community through Team Buildings, Annual General Assembly and Reunion, Monthly Meetings and Birthday Celebrations and other collaborative events.

 

This Facebook page, along with the upcoming launch of our official website, marks a significant step towards FOMI's modernization. These platforms will allow us to connect more effectively, share our stories, and inspire future generations of Mapúans. FOMI fosters a strong sense of family. We collaborate, share knowledge, and empower those in need. We mean, FOMI plants the seeds for better deeds! And with this, we coined the term “KaFOMIlya”. This encapsulates the familial bond that defines our collaborative efforts, showcasing our strength and dedication.

In this facebook platform, we will showcase FOMI’s activities and accomplishments. Also, in the coming days, we will feature FOMI’s Advisers and Trustees as well as other TOM awardees so everyone will see the faces of FOMI. This is just the beginning!
